About Treatments

Your treatment may include a range of techniques to suit your body and needs. Deidre has worked with all of the following techniques for a number of years.

Remedial/ Deep Tissue- this mainly targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissues. It is useful for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, fibromyalgia or recovery from injury. It generally focuses on a specific problem.

Swedish/ Relaxation- by combining long strokes, kneading and friction techniques on muscles to help relieve muscle tension, increase circulation of blood, loosen sore joints and calm the nervous system.

Pregnancy- both pre and post natal massage helps to reduce stress and anxiety, decrease swelling, relieve muscle spasm and cramps, and ease pain at a time when medication and other medical options may be limited. 

Sports- both pre and post competition techniques. This is generally designed for people who are involved in physical activities, for improving physical performance, for warm down/ aid in post activity recovery time and to minimise the chance of an injury or help recover from an injury.

Trigger Point/ Neuromuscular- by applying pressure to individual muscles to balance the nervous system this massage technique helps to increase blood flow, reduce pain and release trigger points. It is helpful for headaches, chronic pain, carpal tunnel/ nerve compression, circulation/ postural issues and general muscle tension and pain.
